What We Do
Indianapolis Street Medicine
Embrace Indianapolis is a 501c3 non-profit in central Indiana. Our volunteers head into the streets, on bikes and feet, to bring medical care, health education, and necessities -developed around specific needs and circumstances- to the homeless population of Indianapolis. We bring care directly to those in need, in THEIR environment, and on THEIR terms. This increases access to quality healthcare and eliminates barriers to care, as this population often cannot or will not travel to a clinic to be seen.
Homeless individuals bear a disproportionate burden of illness and disability, most of which are preventable and treatable.
There are over 1500 homeless individuals in Indianapolis on any given night; 275 of which are under the age of 18.
The largest contributing factors are mental illness, chronic health conditions, and physical disabilities.

Seeing a need for energetic, nonprofit work in the Indianapolis area, we formed our organization to provide Street Medicine to Indy's homeless. We've consistently grown since then, all thanks to the helping hands of this amazing community!

Our mission is to ensure access to quality medical care and basic necessities for Indianapolis Indiana’s homeless population while bridging gaps between the homeless and community resources. Our goal is to bring healthcare directly to the underserved population of Indianapolis.

We are always looking for healthcare-related items. We also accept expired or near-expired items. We will even come pick it up!
Vitamins, supplements, etc.
First aid (bandaids, gauze, isopropyl alcohol, etc.)
Sunscreen
Medicine: cough, cold, flu, pain, allergies, etc. (over-the-counter only please - we are not set up to handle prescription medication *yet*)
Hygiene: toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, deodorant, etc.
